Eli & Fur unveil third forthcoming album single, ‘Carbon’

Electronic music duo Eli & Fur reveal their latest single, “Carbon” which is available to stream/download now and will appear on their forthcoming album Found In The Wild on June 25 via Anjunadeep.

    Eli & Fur – Carbon

Opening with deep cutting grooves, “Carbon” is an alluring vocal production showcasing the duo’s enchanting lyrical ability. With ethereal soundscapes and soothing sonic textures, the track is another compelling release to add the triumphant list of singles appearing on their upcoming album.

“This track existed before the pandemic. The song was there already, as it was written in LA the previous year. A lot of our tracks just start with us in the studio playing chords and coming up with a traditional song structure: verse, bridge, chorus. We often pull some of that away and let the production speak for the non-vocal parts, but we felt this one needed to be fully fleshed out. We added that darkness in the production—the arp, the crunchy bass—and it gave it another level of emotion. It’s deep, but it’s hooky in the vocal, and we like to try and get that balance with all of our tracks.”

    Eli & Fur

“Carbon” is taken from the preliminary half of their 2-part LP and follows the duo’s other recent album singles “Come Back Around” and “Wild Skies.” Split into two distinct parts “Found” and “In The Wild,” the album represents the pair’s contrasting and quintessential components and will see its debut on June 25 (Pre-Order).

Eli & Fur – Found In The Wild – Tracklist

    ‘FOUND’

    • Eli & Fur – Fire To Fire
    • Eli & Fur – Wild Skies

Eli & Fur release second forthcoming album single, ‘Come Back Around’

Eli & Fur release an enchanting new single, “Come Back Around” which is available to stream/download now via Anjunabeats and is due to appear off their forthcoming album that is releasing on June 25.

Eli & Fur – Come Back Around

Opening with a driving beat, “Come Back Around” is a melodic progressive house cut that is infused with a touch of techno flair.  Showcasing the duo’s ethereal vocals at its top line, the track entrances listeners with mysterious soundscapes, elegant melodies, and punchy basslines that give the release lasting appeal.

“‘Come Back Around’ was an instant single to us as it has all of the elements of the album in one track, with dark musical parts but still danceable. It feels like our older early vibes in the bassline, a little deep house, and then you have that progressive feel in the arpeggios and musical layers, followed by that really dry vocal and bass when it drops… really empty but punchy. It sort of flows between the two like the two parts of the album.”

    Eli & Fur

This track marks the duo’s second offering due to appear off their forthcoming debut album, Found In The Wild which will be released via Anjunadeep on June 25.  A dual-part album concept, the LP is a sonic representation of the pair’s contrasting and quintessential components of sound.  The album is divided into two distinct parts “Found” and “In The Wild,” and is available to pre-order at the following link.

“Lyrically, “Run Away“ is a shout out to our current situation full of difficulties, where our beloved world of music is one of the industries that are suffering the most, for a long time now almost forgetting the normality of the past. The track stands out for the fact that we could use a helping hand “running from the fall“ and some hope that we get back to “the stars we’ve known“ very soon. Nevertheless, we, the people of music, are “running away“ together, hand in hand.”

    Felix Raphael

A three-year project in the making, the album is inspired by his life experiences and travels while he was producing it.

“Lailonie’, pronounced ‘Lay-lah-knee’, has been a safe place for me to express a multitude of feelings, moments, and memories I’ve experienced over the last three years. The album is a series of snapshots taken at different points as I’ve processed moving to a new country, getting married, traveling to different places. I’ve also experienced the pain of loss. We unexpectedly and suddenly had to say goodbye to Maddy’s Mom Carme at the end of 2018. I’ve had to rapidly learn how to love and stand by Maddy as we process this pain. We live in a world with so much going on. I think it’s important to have a safe place where you can go to catch your breath, process life, and grow.  ‘Lailonie’ has been that place for me. I hope it can be that place for you.”

Leaving Laurel release three-track EP ‘A Secret Place’ on Anjunadeep

Favored by the likes of Klasmos, Catching Flies, and Christian Loffler, “A Secret Place” treads the indie-electronic waters where acoustic instrumentation blends with electronic arrangements.  The opening track, “Rosaro” starts delicate but gives way to a strong guitar-infused chorus.  Their title track “A Secret Place” picks up the pace and introduces a vocal by Pierce Fulton, while their final track, “Guardian Angels Watch Down On You” offers a driving fuzz-filled binge.

“Leaving Laurel is a tale of two old friends connecting musically for the first time after almost a decade. Inspired by recording into an old, thought to be broken, cassette tape player, a new project materialized seemingly out of thin air – something neither of us knew we were looking for.”

  • Max Cooper & Rob Clouth remix Jon Gurd’s ‘The Dream’

Max Cooper & Rob Clouth remix Jon Gurd’s ‘The Dream’

Max Cooper & Rob Clouth announce the release of a remix for Jon Gurd’s track “The Dream” which is available to stream/download via Anjunadeep here.

Featured on Jon Gurd’s powerful 2020 album Lion, “The Dream” is one of the album’s more melodious tracks.  The remix by Cooper and Clouth contort and stretch its interspersing glitched-out percussion alongside the single’s arpeggio in a new and exciting arrangement.   The release of this remix marks Cooper and Clouth’s debut on Anjunadeep.

“This was a new remixing experience for me working in collaboration with one of my favorite producers, Rob Clouth, on the great original by Jon Gurd. I started the project as I usually do, by building a chord sequence around the original melody which carried the feeling I was after at that moment, and getting a few harmonic ideas recorded from the prophet 6 and Moog 1. I then passed the project over to Rob and he took it in a whole new direction rhythmically, and in timbre, bringing in granulated acoustic elements and reworking the original vocal. We were pretty much set from that point, bouncing the project back and forth a few times working on the mix and lots of layers of detailing. I think we share enough aesthetic values to make this process possible, pushing for an ever-evolving piece of music with a focus on spatial sound, feeling, microstructure, and low-end intensity for the live experience. I hope you’ll have a chance to listen to it with a good pair of headphones or a body massaging bass response, it’s designed mainly for one of those.”

    Max Cooper

“I don’t normally do remixes, but I haven’t worked with Max in yonks and the Jon Gurd track had some lovely melodic elements that I wanted to play with. It was pretty freeform the process, just trying stuff and sending it back and forth. We both agreed that it needed a gritty, distorted beatdown in the middle. That was the best bit, pushing it so hard that it sounds like it’s clipping. But it’s not actually clipping, don’t worry. Max ensured that it sounded great, I don’t know how he does it. He added loads of little synth details that really made it pop. I’m pleased with the result! I feel like it’s a pretty decent merger of Jon’s, Max’s, and my style: deep, bassy, glitchy, and banging. I hope you like it.”

Max Cooper is a famed forward-thinking producer and multi-disciplinary artist with releases on revered labels such as Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Erased Tapes, Systematic, and Traum Schallplatten. His innovative production has been championed in tastemaker outlets around the world, from Mixmag to Resident Advisor.

Barcelona’s Rob Clouth is an electronic musician, sound designer, and new media artist who boasts several inter-disciplinary works in his career, alongside a slew of releases on Leisure System, Traum Schallplatten, and Mesh.

Luttrell releases new single, ‘Lost Souls’

San-Francisco based producer Luttrell announced the release of a brand-new single titled, “Lost Souls” which is currently out now via Anjunadeep here.

Following the success of his second studio album Lucky Ones which reached number 1 on iTunes Dance, Luttrell marks his return with this new release off of Anjunadeep.

Having previously garnered support from the likes of Pete Tong, Gorgon City, Maceo Plex, and more, “Twin Souls” features carefully crafted synths with an echoing vocal sample demonstrating the artist’s production ability to create catchy melodic techno.

“During the beginning of quarantine, I really wanted to write a pretty, feelsy, trance-ey dance song. On ‘Twin Souls’ I started the writing process with a lot of experimentation, using the same arpeggio pattern with different synth patches to create a sound and a tone that was new for my project. Also, when I found the vocal sample, I really liked how its complicated, romantic qualities seemed to blend the perfect mix of love, yearning, and uncertainty to give the song a truly emotional foundation.”
