Marking his first New York City appearance, Don Diablo pulled out all the stops to deliver beaming energy for his long awaited debut at New York’s own Brooklyn Mirage.  The artist took to the stage some of his most defining tracks spanning his illustrious career. Some of these included, “Cutting Shapes,” “Problems,” “Make A Change,” “Monster,” “Beyond the Fire,” and his most recent releases, “Young Again” “Deeper Underground” and “Beast Mode” (Knock You Out).

Highlighting his diverse music abilities, the performance also featured some of his remixes of classics which spanned an array of genres after seeing their premiere on his 500th episode of Hexagon Radio.  The artist transformed some fifty songs to commemorate his monumental 500-episode achievement labeling it as “The Ultimate Mixtape” and making a copy free for all fans to download.

Seamlessly transforming Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,”  The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” and MIA’s “Paper Planes”  into his own future-house masterpieces, Don Diablo maintained the essence of each track, while adding his own flawless spin on the timeless classics. Having recently heard their premier, this made the occasion feel all the more special by being one of the first crowds to witness them live firsthand on the dance floor.

The versatile talent of the artist was further put on display Friday night as massive cinematic screens behind the decks showcased his ability to fuse visual art with his own musical productions.  Surpassing the realm of music, the artist emerged multiple times in an array of his own custom-made outfits which he has been known to create all himself. Astounding the crowd further was a stage change that occurred mid-performance, as the artist placed himself in the middle of the dance floor, adding to reasons why the evening felt all the more intimate and rare.

Happy Hexagonions donned bright smiles and radiant energy while wearing his own record label’s clothing, as revelers jumped yelling across to one another, “Isn’t this just the best ever?” The combination of the aura of the crowd combined with the raw musical energy of the performance made Don Diablo’s debut in NYC well worth the wait, and “THE” place to be in the city last Friday night.
