Closed eyes meant you were doing it right.  The only sensory assault was sound with restraint everywhere else.  Music would be the experience.”

  • Ibiza clubs will remain closed in 2020

Ibiza clubs will remain closed in 2020

On June 16, The Balearic government ruled that Ibiza clubs will remain shut in 2020 and could potentially remain that way until 2021 or until a Coronavirus vaccine is found.

Diario de Ibiza was the first to report the news while Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza reported earlier this week the cancellation of its future events in July and issued a statement on Instagram.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce there will be no events at both Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza this summer.  This is clearly a deep impact for us all; however, we understand that this is the correct decision taking into account the situation caused by COVID-19.”

    – Hï Ibiza

There had been hope that venues and nightclubs would be opened toward the end of the 2020 season due to lobbying around the issue; however, even though social distancing and thorough hygiene measures could be implemented, the government saw it fit to rule out any club activity this year.

It did look optimistic as touring and travel to island will open in July; however, dance parties will be off limits.
