    Bass and trap music producer Hydraulix announces a debut album with the release of a heavy Nitti Gritti collaboration titled, “Waratah” that is available to stream/download now via WAKAAN.

    Slated to be the lead single off the artist’s forthcoming debut album, “Waratah” is a bass-fueled mainstage bomb featuring the production talent of Latin Grammy Award Winner Nitti Gritti. Opening with euphoric gentle soundscapes, the track builds into a sharp contrasting drop that explodes with palpable energy through an array of authentic crunchy sounds.  Showcasing the stellar production ability of the two artists, the record sets emphatic precedence for what is to come from Hydraulix’s upcoming LP,  Imposter Syndrome due out this fall.

    Australian music producer Damien Williams, known artistically as Hydraulix has become a household name in the bass music industry.  The artist has toured alongside Liquid Stranger and has perfomed at some of the most lauded festivals including Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Wobbleland, and Electric Zoo. Frequently releasing on Wakaan, Hydraulix has been sought after by other established labels that include Never Say Die Records, Disciple, RAM Records, and Circus Records.  After paving his way for nearly a decade, the artist is ready to enliven bass fans everywhere with his highly-anticipated debut album.

    Dubstep producer Liquid Stranger unveils 8 high-octane remixes for his latest, “Psychonaut Remix EP,” which is currently available to stream/download via WAKAAN.

    Featuring all-star remixes from the likes of 12th Planet, AstroLizard, Blanke, Hydraulix, Krischvn, LICK, LUZCID, and Mersiv, the EP marks the one year anniversary since “Psychonaut” saw its debut on Liquid Stranger’s lauded “Ascension EP.”

    Kicking off with the familiar sounds of the original release, the EP moves on to 12th Planet’s rendition that takes on a more head-banging approach. In pure dubstep fashion, the track showcases unexpected drops with feverous energy that can only be played at peak volume. “Psychonaut” (12 Planet Remix) comes shortly after his collaboration with U.K. vocalist Katie Skyake on “Follow.” 

    Delivering a range of propulsive energy from a myriad of acts, “Psychonaut Remix EP” boasts an array of talent that are both staples and newcomers to the WAKAAN imprint.  Showcasing their own unique sound, the artists revitalize the original in eight distinctive ways.

    Lucii releases sophomore EP ‘Wicked’ via WAKAAN

    Bass artist Lucii announced the release of a sophomore, four-track EP titled, “Wicked” which is currently available to stream/download via WAKAAN at the following link.

    Having received much acclaim for her recent release “Till The Day I Die,” which is featured on the EP, Lucii’s “Wicked” features an additional three unreleased tracks. 

    Kicking off the EP with “Spell,” the lively track begins softly then rapidly picks up the pace, as it introduces hard-hitting glitchy bass drops.  The EP’s headbanging-induced track, “Wonky,” is a bass-laden club-ready weapon that is quintessential “Lucii.” The EP’s final song, “Vibe,” is characterized by a harmonious vocal accompanied by a hefty, propelling beat that carries throughout its entirety.  Appropriately released during the Halloween season, “Wicked” features Lucii’s hardcore bass music sensibilities and is sure to entice listeners all over the world.

    Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Lucii began producing her own signature-sound of bass music just two years ago.  Her four-track debut EP Abducted was released in 2018 to much critical acclaim.  She became the first woman to sign to Liquid Stranger’s revered WAKAAN recording label later that year with her first release on imprint being her highly-regarded single, “Neptune.”  Since 2018, the artist has collaborated with Australian dance music talent Tek Genesis, U.K. dubstep titan DirtySnatcha, Montreal-based bass DJ/producer Sam Lamar, and esteemed WAKAAN staple Champagne Drip. Having accumulated over 96,000 streams across platforms, Wicked marks the rising talent’s second EP, fourth original production of the new decade, first WAKAAN-released EP, and eighth overall release on the label.

    Rusko releases four-track ‘Sauce’ EP

    Bass music producer Rusko announced the release of a four-track EP titled, “Sauce” which is currently available via Wakaan here.

    Marking one year since the world has seen any new Rusko music, “Sauce” is wholly reflective of the artist’s signature wonky, distorted bass sound.  The four-track EP spans a wide array of electronic dance music genres including dubstep, drum and bass, and bass house.  The EP also features tracks with fellow bass music staples Dirt Monkey and Boogie T as well. 

    Kicking off the EP with “Carrot Cake,” the track features a slow and steady beat with reggae elements before the bouncy dubstep sound takes full effect.  “Ecstasy Dreamland” maintains the lively energy driven by its predecessor. “Quarantinis” is a collaboration with Dirt Monkey which is characterized by even more hints of wobbly dub-reggae. “Wha Gwan” finishes the EP, with Boogie T’s signature heart-fluttering dubstep.

I made a lot of music during lockdown, and picked the 4 most fun & shiny wobblers for this exciting debut on Wakaan!     Christopher Mercer, more commonly referred to by his artist name, Rusko is a pioneer in dubstep.  Having come onto the scene in 2006, the Leeds-born artist has been an active participant in the initial U.K. dubstep wave that took the world by storm in the mid-to-late-2000’s.   Over the years, the artist has sold-out tours and played at renowned events and venues all over the world.
