Amnesia’s Pyramid announces its 2023 summer lineups
World renowned Ibiza club Amnesia announced its 2023 summer lineups for its immersive Pyramid party every Sunday from June 11th to October 8th.

Making it a truly diverse lineup, headliners will include Caribou, Bonobo (DJ Set) Ricardo Villabolos, Nina Kraviz, Raresh, Richie Hawtin and more. The eclectic mix of internationally desirable talent will also include live acts that will cover the most exciting sounds from the house, techno, minimal and electro vanguard.

Curating a spectacular lineup of talent, Amnesia’s Pyramid opening party on June 11th will feature a special three-way back to back set between Ricard Villalobos, Raresh and Franco Cinelli on the Terraza next to Nima Gorji and Cuartero. The Main Room will welcome Andres Campo, Deborah De Luca, Kobosil and Luca Donzelli making it an unforgettable night of the best in techno.

All summer the hottest in dance music will be taking over Pyramid. In June, the lineups will feature Honey Dijon, Nina Kraviz, Marco Farone, Maceo Plex and techno star Reinier Zonneveld.

In July, Deborah de Luca, Caribou, Klangkuenster, and Pan-Pot will be featured on the decks. In August, Charlotte De Witte, Richie Hawtin, a DJ set by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and three hour sets from Deborah De Luca and Marco Farone will be the month’s highlights.

In September, Adam Beyer, Kolsch, Maceo Plex, Alan Fitzpatrick, Kobosil, Richie Hawtin, and Nina Kraviz will be some of the stars featured at Amnesia.

On October 8th the season will come to an end with Enzo Siragusa, Gianluca Pegoiani, Mar-T, a back to back set between Ricardo Viallobos and Luciano, Deborah De Luca and Marco Farone, plus more still yet to be announced.

Time Warp USA announces 2021 Lineup

Acclaimed techno music festival Time Warp announces its return to the United States in 2021 at a brand new Brooklyn venue on November 19-20.

Featuring an all-star lineup of talent, Time Warp USA 2021 will play host to some of house and techno’s top talent with a headlining performance by festival mainstay Richie Hawtin and feature performances by fellow artists Âme, Nina Kraviz, Ricardo Villalobos b2b Craig Richards, Seth Troxler b2b Special Guest, KiNK (live), Stephan Bodzin (live), Adriatique, Ben Klock b2b Marcel Dettmann, Paula Temple, Pan-Pot, Kobosil, Reinier Zonneveld (live), DESNA, Avision, mink b2b O.BEE, and Shahar.

In partnership with Teksupport, the two-day event will be a full audiovisual techno immersion supporting a number New York City artists that will include mainstays DESNA, Avision, Shahar, mink, and O.BEE on display.

Since 2014 Time Warp has been making New York City its home. This year marks its return after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. Its 2019 edition became the first large-scale underground dance event to happen in the Bronx.

SONUS Festival 2022 reveals star-studded phase-one lineup
After recently announcing its postponement to 2022, Sonus Festival has revealed its first wave of star-studded talent for its return to Pag Island, Croatia on August 21-25, 2022.

Plastikman teams up with Endel to deliver ‘Deeper Focus’

Electronic music pioneer Plastikman aka Richie Hawtin teamed up with the app Endel to release a collaborative AI-powered soundscape titled, “Deeper Focus” which is available at the following link.

Featuring all of the hallmark sounds of a stellar Plastikman production, “Deeper Focus” is a personalized real-time adaptive soundscape that improves users’ focus and productivity with the app. Hawtin worked hand-in-hand with Endel co-founders, including visionary entrepreneur Oleg Stavitsky, acclaimed sound designer and composer Dmitry Evgrafov, and esteemed artist and visual director Protey Temen, to create original sounds and productions matching both his artistic vision and Endel’s psychoacoustic requirements. The stems were then processed by Endel AI to create а soundscape that adapts in real-time to the user’s location, weather, natural light exposure, and with beats synced to heart rate.

Created over the past six months, all three soundtracks will see their debut release with additional versions and an Ambient Version of the highly-regarded first soundtrack, “Sin Thetik.” Working closely with co-creative directors Miuccia Prada & Raf Simons, Richie Hawtin’s soundtracks excite the senses and evokes movement with ambient techno appeal. Each soundtrack is a sonic exploration of what is seen in each collection.

“For the Prada & Plastikman collaboration, the musical direction was inspired by Miuccia’s & Raf’s concept for each collection. Although each collection had its own specific theme, I felt confident that the visual language of Prada and the sonic aesthetic of Plastikman would find a beautiful and symbiotic relationship.
For the Spring / Summer 2021 Womenswear collection, Prada explores thoughts on how technology influences intimacy and sensuality, inspiring my use of AI algorithms to create synthetic voices to inhabit the show’s sonic landscape. The Fall / Winter 2021 Menswear collection resonated with the world’s current situation and how fashion (and music) help us deal with it and let us express ourselves. Combining two works into one, reflected this metamorphosis with echoes of club beats and synth melodies that appear like a ghost from the past, hopefully waiting for their return. The third release and soundtrack composed for the Fall / Winter2021 Womenswear collection evolve through two distinct stages. Seismic Dance Event 2021 reveals its lineup
Seismic Dance Event 2021 revealed its lineup for this year’s edition which is scheduled to take place on May 21-23, 2021 in Austin, TX.

Featuring an eclectic range of dance music artists, this year’s eition will feature performances by Adana Twins, Anabel Englund, Artbat, Ben Bohmer (live), Bob Moses (club set), Charlotte de Witte, Claude Vonstroke, DJ Chus, Kyle Watson, Mathame, Nicole Moudaber, Richie Hawtin, Sacha Robotti, SIDEPIECE, Tchami, The Martinez Brothers, Walker & Royce and more. This year will mark the third edition of the music festival and the first edition to be held in the Sring. Richie Hawtin share’s 25-year old ‘CONCEPT 1’ album

Richie Hawtin revealed his 25-year old CONCEPT 1 album will be made available to the public as a digital release exclusively through Bandcamp at the following link.

In 1996 CONCEPT 1 first started as a subscription series featuring a limited run of 2,000 monthly 12-inch releases. 25 years later, CONCEPT 1 will now be available for download as individual tracks and in a complete package featuring a bonus track. Following its initial re-release, there will also be a triple vinyl release and a final release on all digital streaming platforms. This marks the first time it will be made available digitally. The series was reissued in 2007 as a double-CD set.

Showcasing Hawtin’s early experimentation of the minimal and acid techno sound of the 1990s, CONCEPT 1 is considered one of Hawtin’s most defining releases to date. Now, making its digital debut, fans can experience the body of work in one cohesive digital format.

“This release marked a real shift in my production style in 1996 and was the start of a significant chapter in my recording career. Everything was handled independently – from design to distribution to a subscription service to accompany it – so releasing this with Bandcamp now really captures that spirit of the landscape back in the mid-nineties. Concept 1 was recorded in isolation at a time when I was not allowed to enter the USA and with everything going on in the world at this moment, it felt like the right time to finally release this project to a larger audience. Without the year of experimentation around the recording process of Concept 1 in 1995, I would never have gotten to the reduction that I was able to achieve later on the recording style of Plastikman Consumed. In that way, this is as an important album for me than any of my Plastikman albums.”

Richie Hawtin delivers Plastikman alias for Prada

Richie Hawtin continues to redefine the scene as he delivers his Plastikman alias to create a soundtrack for Prada’s women’s Spring/Summer 2021 fashion show.

The 12-minute track titled ”Sin Thetik,” arrives alongside a 20-minute ambient version. The track was debuted at Milan’s Fashion Week in Prada’s first show since their new creative director Raf Simons joined Muccia Prada.

Plastikman ‘Sin Thetik’ was created over an intense few weeks and was inspired by my conversations with Raf along with directions for Miuccia. The process was new to me, however, I always felt the respect and openness from Raf & Miuccia to allow me to explore where the sound of Plastikman would fit in this new context. This is just the first piece of music today, expect more very soon…”

Plastikman debuted an album in 2014 titled EX and in 2018 the artist confirmed that an LP will be released by the alias.

Richard “Richie” Hawtin is a British-Canadian electronic musician and DJ who is a three-time DJ Awards winner. He has been a driving force in the minimal techno scene and has become known for his recordings under Plastikman and F.U.S.E. aliases.
