    Q-Dance presents Qlimax: The Source Livestream

    Q-Dance announced that it will be bringing its hard-style to listeners across the world with a special 4-hour live-stream experience titled, Qlimax: The Source, which is set to take place on Nov. 28.

    Known for its high-quality, innovative experiences, Qlimax: The Source will be taking viewers on a six-chapter audiovisual journey filmed at the most unique locations with each chapter’s soundtrack composed by an artist prominent in their scene. The journey will be followed up by a three-hour afterparty featuring the most recognized hard dance artists coupled with over-the-top visual elements.  The main stage is expected to be an especially mesmerizing visual, that will navigate viewers through the Qlimax universe.

    Dua Lipa announces virtual concert ‘Studio 2054’

    Dua Lipa recently made an announcement via IGTV that she would be hosting a live-stream concert titled, ‘Studio 2054’ which is scheduled to take place on Nov. 27. 

    The virtual concert will be recorded in a giant warehouse and see Lipa perform an array of hit tracks from her self-titled debut album in addition to her most recent release, Future Nostalgia.  Modeling the legendary 70’s Studio 54 nightclub, Lipa will be performing in a crafted stage representing raves, roller discos, ballrooms, and more.  Fans can also expect some surprise guest appearances as well. 

    This announcement comes just a few months after the remix album Club Future Nostalgia was released.  The album featured a collection of brand-new remixes curated by The Blessed Madonna and hosted an incredible lineup of talent including Missy Elliot, Madonna, Mark Ronson, and Gwen Stefani.

    Dua Lipa is a Grammy Award-winning English singer/songwriter and model.  Her self-titled debut album, which was released in 2017 peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart and featured nine singles including the UK number-one hit, “New Rules.”  It has since become one of the most-streamed albums on Spotify and has earned platinum certifications. Her follow-up album, Future Nostalgia became her first UK number-one selling album.  She has also earned numerous accolades including two Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and two MTV Europe Music Awards.

    Amsterdam Music Festival 2020 reveals its lineup

    Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) 2020 announced this year’s lineup for its virtual event, which is scheduled to air live on AMF.TV on Nov. 7 at 8 pm CET (2 pm EST).

    Last year marked the festival’s fastest-ever selling edition of all time and this year AMF will be returning bigger than ever before.  With headlining performances by Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Don Diablo, and Nicky Romero, Amsterdam Music Festival will be streaming its headlining sets live from various famous locations in Amsterdam.

    Amsterdam Music Festival 2020 will be joining forces with DJ Mag to present this year’s Top 100 DJs Awards. Therefore, there will also be a performance by the crowning #1 DJ of 2020.

    Amsterdam Music Festival is an annual electronic music festival typically held during Amsterdam Dance Event. The festival works in collaboration with DJ Mag to announce the Top 100 DJs each year where several prizes are awarded, among which is the award for the #1 DJ in the world.

    1001 Tracklists announce Top 101 Producers 2020

    The Top 101 Producers of 2020 have been announced by 1001 Tracklists. The list is curated by the cumulative amount of support tracks receive by DJs in live sets, radio shows, and mixes. It becomes a unique indicator of an artist’s annual performance.

    Securing this year’s #1 position is Heldeep Records Founder, Oliver Heldens. The Dutch producer has had a massive year with a string of hit releases under his own name and under his HI-LO alias. 1001 Tracklists Top 101 Producers list also takes into consideration artist alias plays as well.

    Marking the highest entry position of all time, Grammy-nominated producer Meduza earned this year’s #2 position. The remaining top spots were placed by Armin van Buuren in at #3, Tiesto at #4, and David Guetta at #5. Please see below for the complete curated list.

    Defected launches virtual event We Dance As One

    Defected Records announced the launch of a three-part virtual event, “We Dance As One” beginning Friday, Oct. 30. 

    Set to kick-off the series of events with a massive lineup, the Oct. 30 event will feature performances by Carl Cox, CamelPhat, Mike Dunn, Natasha Diggs, Sam Divine, and more still yet to be announced.  Streamed via YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch, the sets will be broadcast from the artist’s homes or at their favorite nightclubs which are currently empty due to COVID-19 restrictions.  

    CamelPhat will be performing at Liverpool’s Mansion nightclub, a venue that they own in their hometown.  Sam Divine will play at London’s Ministry Of Sound, and Mike Dunn will be at Smartbar in his hometown, Chicago.  All performances will enforce strict restrictions and social distancing will be in place.

    Aimed to provide hope and uplift the dance music community during this unprecedented time,  Defected Records also intends to raise awareness for the plight of the live entertainment sector in the UK and around the world.  With all activities supported by the Night Time Industries Association and Association For Electronic Music, “We Dance As One” is Defected’s way of showing solidarity for an industry that has largely been ignored and dismissed by the government. 

    Showing up for the culture in a way that only Defected can, We Dance As One will see world-renowned DJs broadcast to millions, completely free and accessible to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.

    This pandemic has negatively impacted dedicated and highly skilled people in the music and events industry, told by the UK’s government ministers to “retrain” or find alternative careers rather than receiving the necessary support.  Defected will be taking this opportunity to bring on board workers who have been displaced or lost work during this time.

    Save Our Stages announce SOSFEST with massive lineup

    Save Our Stages, an initiative created by YouTube Music and The National Independent Venue Association (NIVA),  recently announced that it would be launching SOSFEST, a festival to help support independent music venues, streaming live on Oct. 16-18.

    Boasting a massive lineup from an array of genres, the festival is set to feature performances by electronic music acts Major Lazer and Dillon Francis and a myriad of other artists including Demi Lovato, G-Eazy, Macklemore, Finneas, and Miley Cyrus in the pop realm and Portugal. The Man, Foo Fighters, and Dave Matthews from the world of alternative with numerous others.  Please see below the complete list of artists set to perform.

    The festival will aim to raise funds and awareness for financially vulnerable independent music venues.   SOSFEST will be streamed live directly on NIVA’s YouTube page with segments aired simultaneously on each performers’ YouTube channels.  Fans are encouraged to donate directly to NIVA’s Emergency Relief Fund. 

    The NIVA has been urging President Trump to work with legislators on emergency funding for the live entertainment sector of the country.  The bipartisan Save Our Stages Act, which was positioned on Oct. 1, was recently stalled by the president after he announced that he would be walking away from it until after the Nov. 3 election

    DJ/Producer Oliver Heldens revealed a special, behind-the-scenes video via Instagram prior to his highly-anticipated Livestream performance “Heldens Everywhere,” which is scheduled to take place on October 1st at 21:00 CEST via on Cadenza.tv. 

    The past few weeks my team and I have been working hard on a really special live stream concept, called #HeldensEverywhere. Something very different than usual, this stream will be broadcasted live from an old industrial steel plant and theatre location with some crazy production including an array of custom-built theatre set pieces, costumes, a cast of characters, and real visual effects, that during the set will all transform into 6 different interactive TV Show themes”

    Glass Animals recently released their third album titled Dreamland which is currently available now via Universal Music to stream/download at the following link.  

    The album has been their highest charting album to date entering at number two on the UK chart behind Taylor Swift and went straight into the Top 10 on the Billboard Chart with the highest chart position for a British Alternative Band since 1975. 

    To celebrate the album release, the band is preparing a special live-stream experience for fans titled, “Live In The Internet,” which is set to broadcast on Oct. 15.  The show will feature a full band performance, special guests, and creative fan interaction. 

    “I think 90 percent of a live concert’s atmosphere comes from the crowd. It’s about that togetherness and everyone getting on the same level and everyone in the room being part of the same thing. It’s impossible to create that same feeling on the internet. That’s why people still go to sports matches instead of just watching on TV.

Just like you’d perform and interact differently in a tiny club to how you’d perform in a stadium…you have to interact differently on the web.  

    Gaming and social media have pioneered the way people do this and how people enjoy the internet. I think there’s a way to pull some of that cleverness into a streamed music event. So, we’re going to try to do something with that in mind, instead of just performing live to a totally empty room. We did that like every day on our first tour when we started the band, and it’s really not so fun!”

    Tiesto announced that he will be performing a special virtual dance party from Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 8 pm PST.  

    Kicking off at 6:30 pm with fellow artists from his Musical Freedom recording label, the performance will celebrate the release of his new track, “The Business,” which will see its debut off Atlantic Records on Friday, Sept. 25 and also culminate with the video for the track on Tiesto’s YouTube channel.  Fans can tune in to see the performances live here.

    Monster Energy’s Up & Up Festival adds to its “Welcome Back” virtual college event, which is scheduled to stream live on Monster Energy’s YouTube channel from Oct. 9-11. 

    The “Welcome Back” virtual festival will feature its largest roster of headlining artists across 21 stages.  Featured at the virtual event will be performances by NGHTMRE, San Holo, Ghastly, Ekali, Sullivan King and 3LAU to name a few.

    The Welcome Back Virtual Festival will co-stream to an entirely socially distanced audience from stages around the country at various campuses via Zoom conferences.  Each stage will highlight student performers, host celebrity appearances, contests, giveaways, and online meet and greets with performing artists.

    This year will also kick-off the launch of the festival’s first-ever Talent Showdown.  Students who possess extraordinary talents will compete for a $10K prize.  Production duo Two Friends will host the competition and determine the winners along with students voting on their favorites with Yappa.  All participants who are interested must register through this link.

    In line with its annual tradition, this year student interns will be given the opportunity to produce their own festivals with production kits and coaching from Monster Energy’s Up & Up team.  Students will learn valuable areas of the music industry including staging, marketing, and more.

    The live stream will place Heldens at the forefront with a cast of characters and feature an evolving set design centered around six different nostalgic television concepts. Recorded live from an industrial steel plant in Amsterdam, the set will be transformed into the six themes as he delivers a high-octane DJ set.

    Oliver Heldens has been helping to support a number of causes during the global COVID-19 pandemic including performing a live stream benefit show at The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.  The event raised over $70,000 for the Equal Justice Initiative and Color Of Change in collaboration with Digital Mirage.

    Most recently, Katy Perry called his remix of her single “Daisies” her favorite remix of all time, and subsequently added it to her album.

    Hydeout has secured a number of globally recognized stars to be featured on its new digital music platform, which is scheduled to launch in November.  Created by HydeNSeek Entertainment, Hydeout: The Prelude, will be a frontrunner in uniting music to fans with its content releases, on-demand performances, and online games with additional features as well.

    The platform is scheduled to feature over 40 of some of the biggest artists from the pop, hip-hop, and electronic sphere.     The platform will also include social interaction features such as games, chat rooms, and avatar customization which will allow users to perceive themselves in alternate ways in imagined worlds while discovering and connecting with their favorite acts.
