Felix Cartal releases fourth album, ‘Expensive Sounds For Nice People’

Platinum-selling producer Felix Cartal releases his fourth studio album, Expensive Sounds For Nice People, which is available to stream/download now via Physical Presents.

Spanning a range of stunning collaborations and solo productions, Expensive Sounds For Nice People is a 16-track body of work of dance-pop perfection.  Featuring a number of previous hit releases that include the platinum-selling single “Get What You Give,” “Too Late,” “The Life,” “Only One” with Karen Harding, “Mine” with Sophie Simmons, “Happy Hour” ft. Kiiara, and “Love Me,” the album is a true testament to Cartal’s ability to craft an astonishing array of catchy, upbeat, and deep soundscapes.

My fourth album Expensive Sounds For Nice People is part of the second musical chapter in my life. My first two albums were the first chapter of my musical career: a scrappier, undeveloped, experimental phase where a lot of the ideas didn’t quite get executed how I would want from lack of skill or know-how. I’m still fond of that time and those releases but was ultimately frustrated that I couldn’t make what I wanted come to life exactly how I heard it in my head. The other big problem from that era was consistency, and basically, that’s what I’ve become obsessed with. Growing up arguably through one of the worst eras of one-hit-wonders in musical history, I remember constantly being disappointed when I bought an album and there was only one good song. I hated that. And I think remembering that has guided me into this second chapter of my life. Where I’ve just tried to grind it out daily at the studio and work on my skills, and trying to become more consistent. I’m more into the ‘Jiro Dreams of Sushi’ chef approach nowadays, where I just try to log hours every day to refine my craft. Not too concerned with the result from that specific day but knowing that if I stack those hours I will in fact improve. I want every song to be 100% something I’m proud of, or it’s not coming out.

Felix Cartal releases final forthcoming album single, ‘The Life’

Platinum-selling dance music talent Felix Cartal releases his final forthcoming album single titled, “The Life” which is available to stream now via Physical Presents.

Felix Cartal – The Life ft. Fjord

Opening with uplifting vocal samples, “The Life” is a sun-kissed pop-friendly dance production featuring the shimmering lyrical talent of Fjord.  With laid-back vibes and a message of embracing all that life has to offer, the release exudes a refreshing outlook of hope and positivity for the summer.

‘The Life’ bounces along on a sunshine vibe and grin-inducing breakdown. But analyze the lyrics, and things aren’t quite what they seem. Its pivotal line – ‘I used to believe that life was just a breeze/But the highs and low set me free’ – is a commentary on the superficiality of social media. If people also share life’s ‘misses’ once in a while, I feel like we’d all have a better shot at living confidently.”

    Felix Cartal

When we received the demo from Felix, it was an instant crush! We knew we were about to have loads of fun working on this tune. The songwriting was refreshing, and the production was already mind-blowing.”

Felix Cartal releases forthcoming album single, ‘Too Late’

Platinum-selling dance music artist Felix Cartal releases his latest forthcoming album single titled, “Too Late” ft. KROY, which is available to stream/download now via Physical Presents.

Felix Cartal – Too Late ft. KROY

Opening with delicate piano chords, “Too Late” is an eloquent dance-pop release that features the angelic vocal harmonies of KROY.  The soothing release exudes an airy feel that is both light and refreshing and encapsulates Felix Cartal’s astounding ability to consistently deliver feel-good dance music.

‘Too Late’ was crafted in a last-minute session in Oslo, at a setup in my Airbnb with Iselin Solheim. That’s it, no studio. I remember Iselin saying, let’s just make something we’d both love listening to. It felt grounding, and I think that opened us up to making something really authentic. I’ve been a fan of Kroy for a while, and I love collaborating with artists who aren’t traditionally from the same scene as me, and having her sing it took the track in a beautiful direction that I really love. Once I built out the production, I knew it would be the final song on my album. It feels like a conclusion to me, like a final act.”

    Felix Cartal

Felix and I had been trying to work together for a few years now, and actually got into the studio a while ago, but nothing came out of it. I was so happy he thought of me for his record. The fact that this entire song was done remotely gives me hope in long-distance collaborations. That said, I cannot wait to be in the same room as Felix and celebrate our song together!

Felix Cartal releases ‘My Last Song’ off forthcoming album

Platinum-selling producer Felix Cartal releases a pop-infused dance release, “My Last Song” that is available to stream now and is due to appear off his forthcoming album Expensive Sounds For Nice People via Physical Presents.

Felix Cartal – My Last Song

Featuring catchy lyrics from vocal talent Hanne Mjøen, “My Last Song” is a mainstream-focused release with delicate harmonies and soft-sounding rhythms.  With a bold breakdown that features morphing textures, the release sonically captures the track’s honestly poignant lyrics of feeling nothing at all.

‘My Last Song’ is one of the most honest songs on my upcoming album. It’s always been tricky for me to put into words how I may be feeling. On the one hand, I feel grateful that I have this outlet to express myself, but on the other hand, I feel sort of guilty that I then no longer have a desire to express those feelings after it’s put into a song. Part of me will always protest openness in relationships to some degree because, hey it’s in the song now… Isn’t that enough? Is this why I’m single still? (laughs).”

    Felix Cartal

‘My Last Song’ is the perfect description of how it feels to invest every emotion and put all your energy and time into making music. It’s hard to balance relationships and a career, especially when they ask for too much or start accusing you of being cold. I loved writing this with Felix, it’s so rare I work with producers that actually care about the lyrics, and we connected on this vibe.”

    Hanne Mjøen

“My Last Song” marks the latest track to appear on Felix Cartal’s forthcoming album Expensive Sounds For Nice People, due out on June 25, 2021.  The track will sit alongside other previously hit releases that include “Only One” with Karen Harding, “Mine” with Sophie Simmons, platinum-selling single “Get What You Give,” “Happy Hour” ft. Felix Cartal announces upcoming album with single, ‘Only One’

Platinum-selling dance music artist Felix Cartal unveils a stunning new single out today titled, “Only One” ft. Karen Harding that is expected to appear off his upcoming album Expensive Sounds For Nice People due out on June 25 via Physical Presents

Felix Cartal – Only One ft. Karen Harding

Opening with an enrapturing vocal by songstress Karen Harding, ¨Only One” is an irresistible dance-pop production that soars with uplifting piano riffs. Incorporating a number of futuristic house elements, the track shines with bold lyrics chanting, ¨Let me be the ‘Only One.’”

“I wrote this one with Karen, Chelsea, and Nick during a spontaneous session in LA. I feel like I have two modes when I make music, mode 1 would be something with an emotional heaviness, and mode 2 would be a response to just break away and make something that’s more of an uplifting escape. It was the summer, and I definitely was in mode 2.”

    Felix Cartal

I loved this writing session. We were all on such a high, and I think it definitely came across in the song. We wanted to write a song about that overwhelming feeling of when you know someone is ‘the one‘, we’ve all felt it at some point.”

    Karen Harding

This release coincides with the announcement of the artist´s forthcoming album, Expensive Sounds For Nice People due out on June 26 via Physical Presents.
