Nora En Pure & Beatport announce a livestream from Switzerland

Deep-house queen Nora En Pure teams up with Beatport to deliver a special livestream from Switzerland on Friday, June 25 at 17:30 CEST via Facebook and Twitch.

Marking one year since the artist debuted her Purifed 200 stream, Nora En Pure will be inviting the world to partake in a special hour and a half-hour-long set from the majestic Lake Arnen, Gstaad, situated in the Swiss Alps.  As part of Beatport’s Game Changer series in collaboration with Microsoft Surface, the artist will sit down with the team to discuss how she discovers music, what she is inspired by and how she prepares her Purified Radio Show.

“I am really excited about this stream, as it feels like the last chapter of showcasing the music & work we’ve been doing during this time at home before touring recommences. For this one, I wanted to capture more summery vibes, so a mountain lake was a perfect spot, as I usually love to spend summertime at the lakes. I like placing my streams next to a body of water as it really fits the Purified vibe and the flowing water gives motion to the music. We found Lake Arnen to be the ideal spot, and we hope you guys agree!

Featuring over 20 of the most cutting-edge electronic music acts, Get Lost 2021 Livestream will be a 24-hour event featuring performances by Arthur Baker, Bushwacka, Darius Syrossian, Emanuel Satie, Harry Romero, Francesa Lombardo, Ida Enberg, Jennifer Cardini, Yulia Niko, Junior Sanchez, Tijana T and more.

2020 would have marked the event’s15th anniversary in Miami, but the event was forced to cancel two years in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Damian Lazarus decided to put in place the May Day Get Lost Livestream to celebrate the event’s 14-year history.

“Get Lost Miami was one of the first parties to be canceled due to the pandemic back in March 2020. As we entered this year it was clear that we would have to postpone again, and so a 24-hour live stream featuring some of the freshest DJs in our family, plus some legendary heroes felt like the right thing to do. We’re endeavoring to give people a taste of the deep and trippy vibes that we’ve all been missing on the dancefloor but reconstructed now for the screen. May Day has always been a day of rave and we hope you enjoy the journey we are about to Get Lost in.”

  • The Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative is launched

The Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative is launched

Electronic music organizations Pioneer DJ, Beatport, Sentric Music Group, AFEM, Mixmag, RA, IMS, and Women in CTRL partner with ground-breaking platform, InChorus, to launch the Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative (EMII) to take a data-led approach to address harassment and discrimination within the dance music industry.

Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative is launched

This announcement comes after numerous claims have been made in the media over discrimination, sexual harassment, and toxic cultures within the dance music industry.  Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative is determined to act on these claims through research using InChorus’ survey at the following link so that anyone can anonymously speak up about any forms of discrimination and harassment. The survey will be available for four weeks and will offer key insights into the behavioral trends affecting the industry.

“This first step for the Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative is designed to provide new insights on harassment, bias, and discrimination issues within our culture and inform the next steps we can collectively take as an industry to address them.”

     Greg Marshall, AFEM General Manager

“Diversity and inclusion are key priorities for Pioneer DJ. We are proud to support the Electronic Music Inclusion Initiative in order to push for systemic change across the industry. We hope this will continue the progress and empower individuals to share their experiences of bias and harassment and encourage the industry to adopt robust listening tools that enable targeted action and progress.”

Mark Grotefeld, Pioneer DJ’s General Manager

The EMII will use its findings to take the necessary steps to target resources and provide support to individuals across the sector in order to promote inclusion.

Nicole Moudaber celebrates Beatport’s Artist of the Month with livestream

Techno maven Nicole Moudaber will be celebrating her feature as Beatport’s Artist of the Month with a livestream from the stunning Savaya Bali on Tuesday, March 30 via Beatport’s Facebook Page.

This announcement aligns perfectly with the artist’s recent release of her high-octane collaborative EP with Alan T titled, “The Volume” which is currently available to stream/download via MOOD Records.

Nicole Moudaber Feat. Alan T – The Volume

“The Volume” EP is a two-track body of work that showcases Nicole Moudaber’s iconic techno sound and features the seductive vocals of long-time friend Alan T.  Adding to her growing catalog of releases, the EP kicks off with its title track “The Volume,” which is a tenacious new offering fueled by intoxicating breaks and sheer smokey dance floor vibes. The raw and cutting techno release is sure to speak “volumes” with its nostalgic ambiance to pursue the nearest dance floor.

Continuing the dance-floor high, the EP follows with its B-side “The Music Is Mine.”  The hard-hitting track builds in suspense with spliced sounds and blurting sirens that air a state of caution. The track oscillates with intensity from start to finish leaving listeners pulsating with euphoric energy.

Charlotte de Witte crowned #1 Alternative Top 100 DJs 2020

Charlotte de Witte was crowned #1 Alternative Top 100 DJs 2020 by DJ Mag and Beatport.  Rising from last year’s #7 position, the techno artist has dethroned the title from Carl Cox who has reigned at the #1 position since the list launched in 2018.

2020 has become a monumental year for de Witte who also climbed a defining 42 spots to land the #34 position on this year’s Top 100 DJs poll.  Having debuted at the #76 position in 2019, her rise has granted her this year’s title of “Highest Climber” and “Highest Techno DJ” in the 2020 poll.

“It’s probably the strangest year to become No.1 DJ since no one has really been DJing…but yeah, it does mean a lot. It’s a big, big, big milestone.”

    Charlotte de Witte

The Alternative Top 100 DJs list is curated by DJ Mag in collaboration with Beatport by combining votes in the Top 100 DJs poll with house and techno sales data from Beatport to determine the top house/techno DJs in the world.  This provides an  “alternative” to the Top 100 DJs poll, which tends to be dominated by EDM and Trance DJs.  For additional information on this year’s list and artists, please visit DJ Mag’s official website.

With COVID-19 wreaking havoc across the world, Lebanon was faced with another disaster as an explosion devastated Beirut last week and affected hundreds of thousands of people.  ‘Together For Beirut’ will be a fundraising online event, which will help those in need during these difficult times.

We must support in any way we can to help, and in addition, our efforts will also be helping the music and arts industry of Lebanon which has been wiped out.”
