EDC Europe 2021 cancels & moves to 2022

EDC Europe 2021 announced that it will be canceling its 25-year anniversary celebration in Portugal this year and moving its dates to June 17-19, 2022 due to ongoing issues with the pandemic.

Originally slated for June 18-20, 2021, EDC Europe was expected to have a stellar beach location with over 140 artists announced in just its initial phase one lineup back. Some of the artists expected to perform included Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Alesso, Andy C, Armin van Buuren, Artbat, CamelPhat, Charlotte De Witte, Chase & Status, Chus & Ceballos, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Diplo, DJ Anime, DJ Snake, DJ Tennis, Dom Dolla, Don Diablo, Dubfire B2B Nicole Moudaber B2B Paco Osuna, Eric Prydz, Fisher, Galantis, Head Hunterz, Hot Since 82, Jamie Jones, Jauz, Loco Dice, Maceo Plex, Marshmello, Nora En Pure, Patrick Topping, Paul Kalkbrenner, Richie Hawtin, Tchami, Tiesto, and W&W to name a few.

For those who purchased tickets, ticket holders will receive an email that will give them the option to roll their tickets over to 2022 or request a refund. More updates and news can be found on EDC Europe’s official website.

This announcement comes after a number of other events canceled their 2021 editions due to COVID-19 including Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, Coachella, and Parookaville.

EDC Portugal 2021 announced a massive phase-one lineup to celebrate its 25-year anniversary of EDC, which is scheduled to take place in Praia da Rocha, Portimão, Portugal on June 18-20, 2021.

EDC Portugal 2021 announces its phase-one lineup

Limited pre-sale tickets will be made available to the public on Oct. 1 at 9 am BST at the following link. Tickets will start at €172.78 with taxes and fees for 3-day passes. Payment plan options will be made available and will start with a deposit of €20 down for three-day GA passes. There will be a limited number of tickets at this Super Early Bird, General Admission rate, so it is highly recommended to secure passes immediately.

Insomniac announces EDC Portugal 2021 anniversary celebration

Insomniac announced EDC Portugal 2021 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of EDC. The festival is scheduled to take place at Praia da Rocha, Portugal from June 18-20, 2021.

This announcement comes just after Pasquale Rotella, the founder of Insomniac Events revealed on social media that the brand would be celebrating the anniversary in a special location on a beach in Europe.

Fans can expect all of the usual pomp and circumstance that EDC delivers including five stages featuring 140 top electronic music acts, three dusk till dawn nights, full-size carnival rides, spectacular art, theatrical performers, and thousands of smiling faces.

A limited number of pre-sale passes will be available to purchase at a price point at £129 for three days with a £20 deposit down payment plan option. Insomniac announces a 25-year celebration of EDC in Europe

Insomniac Events and Pasquale Rotella announced on social media that the brand would be celebrating EDC’s 25-year anniversary with a special celebration in Europe next year, 2021. Fans can check out the teaser video here.

EDC Europe 2021 – 25-year celebration

This will mark EDC’s return to overseas since it last appeared in the UK in 2016. EDC UK occurred for four years before its 2017 installment was forced to cancel since it did not meet the expectations of Rotella.

This news comes slightly after the brand announced that EDC Mexico would be pushed to a later date in 2021. This adds to the promoter’s long list of events canceled without a confirmed date for next year.

Insomniac does not inform the exact location of EDC Europe 2021; however, they did note it would be in a “very special location” on a beach and will be in the summer. Further details are said to be disclosed in the coming weeks.
