This year’s winner winner of The Sound of Tomorrow will win his/her own spot at Tomorrowland 2021 performing a back2back set with renowned music artist Fedde Le Grand and will release a remix on Le Grand’s label, Darklight Recordings.  The artist will also receive a one month residency at One World Radio.

Following and during the event viewers were able to cast votes on Facebook, Youtube, and/or Switch.  The Sound of Tomorrow will not only be counting on public votes but will also use 40% of the judges (Fedde Le Grand and Dimitri’s) votes as well.  For those who vote, they will also have an opportunity to win tickets to this year’s edition of Tomorrowland Around the World.

The Sound of Tomorrow is a special competition that Le Grand has been a mentor of since its inception with last year’s semi-finalists in Ibiza and the winning artist Empra.

When asked about the secret ingredient to a DJ set at Tomorrowland,

“It’s not so much about you. It’s about the crowd. It’s about the narrative of the whole day of the entire weekend.  It’s very important to feel where your place is in that story.”

    – Dimitri Vegas

First, Angie Mill from the Netherlands went back to back with Rikki in Spain and then Jil Tanner from Germany went back to back with DJ Matti from Norway. To hear the finalists’ streams, fans can go to The Sound of Tomorrow’s website to check-out the finalists.

  • Tomorrowland 2021 might be a three weekend edition

Tomorrowland 2021 might be a three weekend edition

On June 18, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen noted that the festival is looking to make up for its recent cancellation of the 2020 event due to the Coronavirus pandemic by making its 2021 edition a monumental three weekend festival.

“A third weekend Tomorrowland could be a solution for everyone involved to make up for the completely lost 2020 season and all [of] its consequences, but…nothing has been discussed or decided yet. In any case, we are waiting to see how the situation will evolve in the coming months. Like governments, we cannot see very far into the future at the moment.”

    – Debby Wilmsen

Having recently announced that its 2020 installment would be delivered virtually as Tomorrowland Around The World,  a three day weekend in 2021 would offset the experiential and monetary loss that has resulted in its cancellation this year.  However, in order for the three consecutive weekend event to be delivered to fans, the festival promoter would need to obtain approval for the event by local authorities and government.

Tickets for  Tomorrowland’s virtual festival, Tomorrowland Around The World  are available for purchase at Tomorrowland’s official webpage. The event, which is scheduled to be held on July 25-26 will be featuring some of the most renowned names in electronic dance music including performances by: Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, David Guetta,  Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike,, Fedde Le Grand, Kölsch, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, Paul Kalkbrenner, Steve Aoki, Tale of Us, Tiësto, Timmy Trumpet and many more.
