    Bonnaroo 2021 announces deadmau5, Seven Lions, Wooli, Lucii & more

    Bonnaroo 2021 revealed the lineup for its twentieth annual edition, which is scheduled to take place at Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee from Thursday, September 2 to Sunday, September 5.

    Featuring a diverse assortment of artists, Bonnaroo 2021 will be welcoming headliners Tame Impala, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Foo Fighters, Grand Ole Opry, and Tyler, The Creator. 

    From the dance music sector, the music festival will also be welcoming performance artists Boombox Cartel, Oliver Tree, Dr. Fresch, Wooli, Ekali, Lucii, TroyBoi, Seven Lions, Subtronics, and deadmau5, among numerous others.

    This announcement follows the cancellation of its 2020 event.  A virtual iteration of the event took its place back and September and featured performances by A-Trak, Big Gigantic, Charli XCX, Chromeo, David Lynch, Denzel Curry, Devin Dawson, ERNEST, Galactic, Hayley Williams, and more.

    Bonnaroo reschedules for Sept. 2021

    Bonnaroo announced in a statement on Twitter that it would be rescheduling its three-day festival to Sept. 2-5, 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns. 

    This marks the third time the three-day, Tennessee festival has rescheduled its dates. The festival made an announcement back in June that it would be postponing its dates in 2021 when it announced that it would be making its 2020 edition virtual.

    Bonnaroo 2020 followed the format of what many other festivals did this year by providing a virtual event of the highlights of its previous editions. The festival dug from the archives, previous performances by Alabama Shakes (2015); Dave Mathews and Friends (2014); Jack White (2014); James Brown (2003) Metallica (2008); The White Stripes (2007); The xx (2017); and of course The Beastie Boys’ final performance in 2009 to name a few.

    Bonaroo has assured ticket holders that refunds will be issued to those who do not wish to use their passes on the rescheduled dates.

    Bonnaroo 2020 announces lineup for its virtual festival

    Bonnaroo 2020 announced its full lineup for its virtual festival, Bonnaroo Presents: Virtual Roo-ality, which is scheduled to take place from Sept. 24-26.

    The announcement comes just three months after the festival announced its cancellation.  The festival initially postponed the event for three months but then canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.  

    Featured this year will be appearances by A-Trak, Big Gigantic, Charli XCX, Chromeo, David Lynch, Denzel Curry, Devin Dawson, ERNEST, Galactic, Hayley Williams, and more.

    Bassnectar announces a ‘step back’ from his career

    On July 3, electronic bass act Bassnectar announced that he would be taking a “step back” from his career following reported allegations of sexual misconduct, manipulative and abusive behavior from multiple sources made public through an Instagram account.

    On the account, multiple females came forth reporting that the star directly messaged them to find out which shows they would be attending, many of the females being 16 and 17 years old. 

    In his statement he reports, “I am stepping down from my position of power and privilege in this community because I want to take responsibility and accountability,”  To read the full Twitter statement, please see below:

    This comes as a surprise considering his involvement and donations to multiple organizations including spearheading the non-profit, Be Interactive.  Be Interactive has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity with music being its sole catalyst and driving force allowing “everyday people to get involved, get engaged and make a personal impact on the world.”

    Lorin Ashton, better known by his stage name, Bassnectar is an American DJ and producer who has known to perform at a variety of music festival and events including, Burning Man, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Electric Forest.

    Bonnaroo 2020 announces its cancellation

    On June 24, Bonnaroo 2020 announced the cancellation of its event due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which was scheduled to be held in Manchester, Tennessee on Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, September 27.  The festival, which has now opted to become a virtual live stream event on its scheduled dates will be featuring highlights of some of their “favorite memories of the past and present.”

    Bonnaroo further announced its rescheduling of dates for the 2021, 20th-anniversary edition, which will be held in Tennessee on June 17- June 20, 2021.  Ticket holders will have the opportunity to receive a refund for their 2020 tickets or “roll them over” into next year.  The window to refund for tickets will be between July 1 – July 31. For those opt to “roll over,” they will have a free entry into the virtual live stream held in September (a $50 value).

    The festival made an official statement of the cancellation on their webpage:

    “Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will not take place this September 24-27, 2020 as originally rescheduled. Our annual time together on the Farm is nothing short of magical, but out of an abundance of caution and for the health and safety of all Bonnaroovians, artists, staff, partners and our community, this is a necessary reality.  More information on lineup, camping, and accommodations will be available at a later date.”
