Italian production trio Meduza recently shared a riveting live set from Sólheimasandur Plane Wreck in Iceland for Selected Sessions.
This announcement follows the trio’s recent collaborative release, “Paradise” where they paired up with Dermot Kennedy, which has garnered 30 million streams worldwide. “Paradise” is currently out now via Republic Records at the following link.
In response to the Selected Sessions Iceland set, Meduza says,
“In Sept 2020, during a break in the lockdown, Selected Session asked us to come to Iceland to film a DJ Set at Sunrise at one of the most insane locations we could imagine, the Sólheimasandur Plane Wreck. We immediately agreed.
Over the next 4 days, we had hardly any sleep as we made this happen with an outstanding team of people!!
The reward was an utterly breath-taking sunrise which happened during our set, to say we felt this was our personal paradise at that moment is an understatement.
This Session took place in the deep south of Iceland, surrounded by hundreds of miles of black sand and mountains. We were hours from civilization, exposed to the raw elements with nothing but each other and the beautiful nature that surrounded us. We were isolated, cut-off, and alone. The location for this Session plays homage to this year and the challenges it has presented us with and, most importantly, serves as a reminder to us all that wherever you are and however lost and lonely it may seem, hope can always be found.
We hope you enjoy the DJ set and the location/scenery as much as we did.
Huge thanks to Iceland Air and Zo oN who made this happen alongside Selected, Covert, and JAMZ and our incredible management team.”
Meduza exploded onto the scene last year with the hit single, “Piece of Your Heart” (featuring Goodboys) which went on to achieve diamond, multi-platinum, and gold status worldwide. The track peaked at the number two spot in the UK Singles Charts and was number one in the US Dance Charts while also earning a Grammy nomination.
