M&S – Salsoul Nugget (If You Wanna) [Mark Knight Remix]

In honor of the track’s 20-year anniversary, M&S (Ricky Morrison and Fran Sidoli) recreated and remastered the record completely and unveiled two special remixes by Mighty Mouse and Mark Knight to celebrate the auspicious occasion.

“Yes Yes Yes! Wow! We are beyond excited! We can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the release of Salsoul Nugget! Thank you so much to Archie and the Central Station Records team for bringing it back to life with our new remasters for 2021 and stunning remixes from Mr. Mark Knight and the Mighty Mighty Mouse both giving a new edge to our ‘Classic’. 20 years and well worth the wait! Here’s hoping you agree also. Thank you so much for the support. We love you and keep on dancin!”

Revitalizing the record to align with the 2020s, Mark Knight increases the track’s groove and showcases its disco-laden vocal at the top line.  The track is a sweeping dance floor house cut with a variety of sonic soundscapes that include guitar licks and an upbeat attitude to boot.

“I remember hearing Bobby and Steve play Salsoul Nugget on Kiss back in 2001 just pre Miami and the hype went into overdrive. It was played everywhere at WMC that year from clubs to pool party day and night it was on repeat, and the battle of the A&R’s began, and rightfully so as this was THE record of the year. I fell in love with it! What an awesome fusion on Loletta Holloway and Double Exposure. Ricky and Fran nailed it. So when I got the call 20 years later asking if I wanted to remix it was an absolute no-brainer, especially where my head’s at musically right now, it was the dream gig. Hopefully, I have done justice to the original an which is a stone-cold classic.”

Released in 2001, “Salsoul Nugget (If You Wanna)”  peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart and number 21 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.  These two new remixes will keep the track alive and allow the next generation to experience its uplifting energy and dancefloor magic.
