DJ/producer 3LAU made history by releasing the world’s first tokenized album, Ultraviolet, and selling a record-breaking $11.6 million in NFTs via an online auction from February 25-28.

In partnership with Origin and Protocol, 3LAU celebrated the three-year anniversary of his acclaimed Ultraviolet album by making it the first tokenized album ever. Fans placed bids on 33 NFTs during the auction period, which made a record for overall sales for a single NFT drop/collection with the highest price paid for a single NFT at $3.6 million. Winners will be able to redeem these for special edition pieces of vinyl, unreleased music, unique experiences, and bonus song NFTs. More details can be found on the event’s website.

“I’m excited to help give power back to artists. This is the first step in a longer mission to connect artists directly to their fans, and allow artists to capture the value they create in the world.”
