Primavera Sound 2022 unveils stunning lineup

After recently announcing its return in 2022, Primavera Sound unveils a stunning lineup for its historic twentieth anniversary which is scheduled to take place in the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday, June 2 – Sunday, June 12.

Featuring over 400 artists over the span of an unprecedented 11 days, Primavera Sound 2022 confirmed headlining acts Massive Attack, Tame Impala, Beck, The Strokes, Gorillaz, Tyler, The Creator, and others over the course of weekend one from June 2-June 4.

Continuing with the programming from June 5-8, Primavera a la Ciutat will be hosting 50 more concerts, spread over 10 venues in Barcelona with Disclosure, Jamie XX, Charlie XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, and many more.

Headlining its second weekend will be new headlining performances by Dua Lipa, Lorde, Jorja Smith, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the return of artists from weekend one Gorillaz, Tyler, The Creator, Massive Attack, The Strokes, and Tame Impala to name a few.

To close out the festival on Sunday, June 12 the event will be hosting Brunch-On-The-Beach, a closing party on the beach of Sant Adrià de Besòs. The daytime party will feature views of the sea with electronic music stars Nina Kraviz, Amelie Lens, and Peggy Gou, among numerous others.

Encompassing two different weekend lineups, Primavera Sound will be revealing more surprises and its weekday program for the venues in Barcelona in the coming weeks.

Tickets already purchased for the 2020 and 2021 editions will allow ticket holders to attend Primavera Sound 2022 Barcelona – Sant Adrià. The buyer must choose between one of the two weekends, but there will be options to upgrade to attend both weekends as well. Primavera Sound 2022 announces 11-day festival

Primavera Sound announces its twentieth-anniversary return in 2022 for an unprecedented 11-day event in the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain from Thursday, June 2 – Sunday, June 12.

After canceling its festival two years in a row, Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs will be multiplying next year’s event for its monumental twentieth-anniversary edition. With over 400 artists performing for an unprecedented multi-weekend event, the festival confirmed that most of the artists of the 2021 edition will remain at the festival and will be joined by dozens of new names that will reflect the essence of contemporary music.

Just some of the notable performance acts confirmed for 2021 included Tame Impala, Charlie XCX, Iggy Pop, The Strokes, Beck, Gorillaz, and FKA twigs to name a few. The full lineup for Primavera Sound 2022 is expected to be revealed on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Hosted at the Parc del Fòrum, the two weekends of the event on June 2-4 and June 9-11 will feature uninterrupted concerts with a closing Brunch On The Beach party on June 12 for a real feast of live music. From June 5-8, a spectacular edition of Primavera a la Ciutat will spread over 150 concerts around different venues in Barcelona, while Primavera Pro will also strengthen its relevance as a strategic meeting point for the industry.

Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 postpones to 2022

Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 announced it will be postponing this year’s edition until 2022 due to force majeure and the “‘uncertainty surrounding the legal framework of large events.”

Expected to take place from June 2-6, 2021 to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, Primavera Sound made the official announcement on their website stating,

“The restrictions that currently exist, means that we cannot work normally on the preparation of the festival nor ensure that, once the date arrives, it can be celebrated. Although it is painful, we know that this is the right decision, especially for those of you who have to plan your trip in advance. We have left no stone unturned: we led the clinical trial carried out at the Apolo in Barcelona last December and we have been in constant contact with the health authorities to explore all possible solutions. But the twentieth anniversary of Primavera Sound deserves a party like the ones we are used to, and the global situation does not seem favorable to allowing something like this to happen this summer. At least not in a way in which we can live the full Primavera Sound experience.”

This marks the second year in a row that the festival has canceled its event. Similar to last year, ticket holders will be offered the same opportunity to keep their tickets for next year or request a refund starting Wednesday, June 2nd, when the Primavera Sound Barcelona 2022 line-up will be revealed. The festival promises to deliver its best festival in 2022 yet.

Primavera Sound announces New Year’s Eve livestream, Fuck 2020

Barcelona-based festival Primavera Sound announced a New Year’s Eve livestream titled, Fuck 2020, which is scheduled to take place on December 31, 2020, from 7:00 pm – 3 am on the festival’s official Facebook Page.

Celebrating what would be their monumental 20th-anniversary, Primavera Sound’s New Year’s Eve party is scheduled to feature legendary performances by John Talabot, DJ Nobu, Daniel Avery, Jessy Lanza, Paranoid London, and Lena Willikens b2b BSS, to name a few.

Fuck 2020 will be a collaborative worldwide farewell to the year that will stream over a dozen DJ sets from futuristic musical pioneers during eight uninterrupted hours of music. The internationally recognized festival teamed-up with Philadelphia’s legendary transcendental sound experience Making Time to close out the year fittingly. Developed by Ricardo Rivera of Philadelphia’s Klip Collective, Primavera Sound’s New Year’s Eve livestream is set to feature futuristic staging through holographic technology and ring in the new year at midnight.

Tickets are currently on sale now for the New Year’s Eve event on DICE for € 10. All proceeds from the event will go to the artists directly with one euro of each ticket donated to Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity and the Plus 1 for Black Lives Fund.
