Steve Aoki & George Benson – Give Me The Night

Opening with an anticipatory four on the floor rhythm, Steve Aoki collaborates with legendary artist George Benson to put a tech-house spin on the disco-era classic, “Give Me The Night.”  Keeping the party vibe alive, the track bursts with house flavor showcasing another side to Steve Aoki’s diverse abilities in the studio. The track marks the sophomore release on Dim Mak’s newly launched house imprint, A GOOD ONE.

“Getting the chance to reimagine such a classic track as ‘Give Me the Night’ with the legend George Benson has been really exciting. My father & George were friends, so when this opportunity came about, it was full circle for me to be able to create a club version putting my own spin on it. And releasing it as the second release on A GOOD ONE, Dim Mak’s house imprint, was the perfect way to get the label going.

“Give Me The Night” remains one of George Benson’s most beloved songs as it took the world by storm on dancefloors across the world.  The track hit number one on the US Billboard Soul Singles chart, number four on the US Billboard Hot 100, number two on the Billboard Hot Disco Singles Chart, and number seven on the UK Singles Chart leading to Benson’s Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance.

“A few years back, I discovered that my good friend Rocky Aoki’s eldest son, Steve Aoki, had shaped a powerful footprint in the music business by creating unique club remixes. I was excited to have an opportunity to work on a musical project together someday. The perfect opportunity arrived with a live version of ‘Give Me The Night,’ and what an amazing collaboration it has been.”
