    Flight Facilities team up with DRAMA on energetic release, ‘Move’

    Electronic music duo Flight Facilities collaborate with the esteemed pair DRAMA on a new, upbeat single titled, “Move,” which is available to stream/download now via Interscope Records.

    Opening with a hook courtesy of vocalist Via Rosa from the duo DRAMA, “Move” is a catchy retro-sounding dance release with beaming piano chords and a distinguished 909 rhythm. Inspired by early 90’s dance music, the release is a refreshing example of charismatic dance music with vibrant hints from the past.

     “We’ve loved Drama’s sound since 2016, and in 2019 we finally found ourselves in an LA studio with the duo. In a session glued together by Jono Ma, we emerged with one of our favourite bassline-driven jams to date. Subconsciously, a decade after releasing early 80’s inspired disco, our internal musical clocks have us creating early 90’s inspired dance. We couldn’t have asked for better collaborators than Via and Na’el to explore that genre with, and we’re just as lucky to call them friends. Whether you’re in the club, kitchen or a lockdown party of 1, ‘Move’ is our ode to piano house, and the pioneers of 909 drum-machine music.”

This track felt like a bit of a throwback and an homage to Madonna, and a great fusion of what DRAMA and Flight Facilities each brought to the table.     A full one-hour immersive journey, NEVER FOREVER will include an array of never-before-heard music that includes demos and edits that the duo has been secretly working on over the past few years.  The livestream will aim to create memories for fans that cannot be recreated, offering an opportunity to savor their artistry and take pleasure in the knowledge that they are a part of something unique that was curated for their eyes only. 

    “Everything is forever now, and yet there’s still so much value in the finite. The nostalgia of a memory is so much stronger than a present reality. Never Forever is about chasing the magic of the moment, with no guarantees of repeats. We came to know that feeling in the club, on the dance floor, and even on the radio. It meant embracing a limited point in time, for what it was. There is something super special in that moment for us.”

    Flight Facilities release grooving record ‘Light’s Up’

    Production duo Flight Facilities announce the release of a new infectious release titled, “Lights Up” featuring Channel Tres which is available to stream/download now via Future Classic / Glassnote Records.

    Kicking off with a cool West Coast vibe courtesy of Channel Tres, “Lights Up” is a grooving release inspired by the sounds of 90s Detroit house and West-Coast hip-hop.  The genre-bending record showcases a simplistic, catchy beat with the soul-sounding spitting lyrics of Channel Tres at its forefront. Soaked with a nostalgic feel, the track’s laidback vibes will provide the perfect soundtrack for the forthcoming summer season.  “Lights Up” marks Flight Facilities’ first release of 2021 and the first track to be released in over a year from the duo.

    “We’ve always loved the sound of the early Detroit House scene that crossed over with the Paradise Garage era. Combined with our love for Channel’s voice, it seemed like a perfect fit. His voice has a magical ability to make songs that are made for strutting. We felt it was important to keep enough of our sound and influence in the track, to avoid it sounding too derivative, so we wanted to include some 90’s and 00’s elements to give the song its own character.”

    This release follows the recent announcement that the duo will be joining RÜFÜS DU SOL’s highly-anticipated tour for three nights at Downtown Los Angeles’ Banc of California this November. To keep up with the demand after the first show sold out in minutes, 50,000 additional tickets were added.

    Australian electronic music duo Flight Facilities are known for their feel-good, dance floor-focused tracks that include the hit singles, “Crave You” ft.     This announcement comes after selling out their first two shows on Friday, November 12, and Saturday, November, 13 within minutes.  Marking the band’s largest headlining shows to date, the first two live performances secured over 50,000 tickets for fans with 25,000 additional tickets added for their third performance.

    For three nights, the band will be joined by fellow Australian live-electronic producers Flight Facilities who have hinted at new music ahead this year. The band will also be delivering the immersive installation work of  Do LaB throughout the shows.  

    Los Angeles is a place near and dear to the hearts of the bandmembers as it defined their sound and shaped their lives and artwork.  They have had a number of triumphant live performances in the city including two Coachella performances, three sold-out nights at The Shrine, and their 20,000 attendee open-air LA State Historic Park celebration.

    RÜFÜS DU SOL announced that they will be returning to the stage with a headlining live performance at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium on Friday, November 12, 2021.

    Marking the first-ever electronic dance music headlining artists at the stadium, RÜFÜS DU SOL will be joined by fellow Australian live-electronic icons Flight Facilities.  The concert is expected to reveal a range of new music from the band’s studio time while in isolation due to COVID-19 and feature immersive art installations by Do LaB throughout the show.

    Los Angeles is a place near and dear to the hearts of the bandmembers as it defined their sound and shaped their lives and artwork.  The band’s 2019 triumphant concert at LA State Historic Park united over 20,000 fans who basked in the glory of the artists’ beloved catalog that spanned hits and fan favorites.

    Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt make up the electronic dance music group RÜFÜS DU SOL.   They broke onto the scene in 2011 and since peaked at number one in Australia with their debut album Atlas.  Their second album Bloom debuted atop the Australian album’s chart in early 2016.  The group most recently earned two Grammy Award nominations in 2020 for Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album.  For additional information related to RÜFÜS DU SOL, please visit their official website.
