Sofi Tukker dish dynamic third studio album, ‘BREAD’

Grammy-nominated dance duo, Sofi Tukker deliver a bounty of vibrant hits on their third studio album, BREAD, which celebrates unity and togetherness and is available to stream/download here now. 

Sofi Tukker, the duo comprised of vocalist Sophie Hawley-Weld, and producer Tucker Halpern, feature their all-encompassing upbeat energy. Serving up a smorgasbord of sounds over its 10 tracks, BREAD includes previous hit releases, “Throw Some Ass,” “Hey Homie,” “Spiral,” and “Jacaré” which have already accumulated over 21 million streams.

The album, which serves as a testament to the duo’s dynamic sound, blends a vast spectrum of genres including house, Brazilian funk, drum and bass, bossa nova, and pop, and features collaborations with Kah-Lo, MC Bola, and Channel Tres.

BREAD, which stands for the acronym, “Be Really Energetic and Dance,” delivers a positive message about how music has the power for people to “break bread” with all walks of life on the dance floor by uniting them through song and dance.

Embodying this theme is the fifth track off BREAD titled “Woof” which fans may recognize from a livestream of Sofi Tukker in 2020.  The track hooks listeners with its catchy guitar riff and features Sophie Hawley-Weld spitting sultry vocals in four different languages including Portuguese, French, German, and English with a guest appearance by Nigerian artist Kah-Lo speaking in Yoruba.  Tucker Halpern’s iconic deep voice in the hook provides the track with the duo’s signature “edgy” sound while an unexpected “poppy” bridge unifies the medley of styles in one cohesive package, making it unmatched to anything that anyone else is currently producing in the music industry.
