To celebrate the original record’s twenty-year anniversary, i_o’s rework crosses new frontiers while paying tribute to the original. Featuring i_o’s iconic techno beats accompanied by stirring melodies and vocals, “Castles In The Sky” makes for a true sonic venture that transcends genres while allowing listeners to reminisce about dance music’s past.
“Castles In The Sky” was originally released by the Belgian band Ian van Dahl shortly after the turn of the millennium. It immediately turned heads within the dance music industry and left a lasting impression on dance music culture as it peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the Scottish Singles Chart.I_o rose to prominence in 2017 as he appeared on deadmau5’s mau5trap recordings compilation, We Are Friends, Vol. 7, and co-produced with Tommy Trash on “Oxygen.” Before signing exclusively with Armada Music, the artist released on Andrew Rayel’s inHarmony and provided remixes for a number of dance music heavy-weights including Above & Beyond’s “Alchemy” and Armin van Buuren and Tempo Giusto’s “Mr. Navigator.” He has headlined major music festivals including EDC Las Vegas, hosted an underground warehouse event, ACID RAVE in downtown Los Angeles and sold-out his 444 album tour.
