Major Lazer announced a highly-anticipated, fourth studio album titled, Music Is The Weapon which scheduled to be released on Oct. 23.  

Music Is The Weapon marks the band’s first full-length album since 2015.  The album will feature recently released tracks “Oh My Gawd” with Mr Eazi featuring Nicki Minaj and K4mo; “Lay Your Head On Me” featuring Marcus Mumford; Latin Grammy-nominated “Rave de Favela” with Anitta, MC Lan and BEAM, “Que Calor” featuring J Balvin and El Alfa (which was performed by Balvin at the 2020 Super Bowl alongside Jennifer Lopez); “Trigger” with Khalid, and “Can’t Take It From Me” featuring Skip Marley. The official tracklisting featuring additional collaborations with artists will be forthcoming.

The band has recently curated a special Music Is The Weapon Spotify playlist, which consists of 50 tracks that inspired their upcoming album.  Fans can listen to the playlist here.

To celebrate the upcoming release, the group has also unveiled a series of U.S. socially-distanced, drive-in shows.  The Major Lazer Sound System tour will be making its way to Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte and more.  Tickets for the tour will be released to the general public on Oct. 2.

The band will also be debuting their first-ever comic book early in 2021 titled, Major Lazer: Year Negative One.  Featuring longtime collaborator Ferry Gouw, who created the original Major Lazer character, the comic will be written by acclaimed scribe Alex De Campi.  Fans can preorder the comic and read a preview here.

Major Lazer is a three-person group consisting of Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums. The band has released three acclaimed albums including  Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do (2009);  Free The Universe (2013); and Peace Is The Mission (2015), which features the track “Lean On” with DJ Snake and MØ which has become one of the most successful songs of all time.
