Oliver Heldens, renowned Dutch electronic dance music producer and DJ, performed at the iconic Dutch music institution, The Royal Concertgebouw for Digital Mirage’s online festival. The event, which raised over $27,000 US dollars to The Equal Justice Initiative and Color of Change attracted more than 110,000 viewers worldwide.
Receiving thousands of comments, the artist showcased a legendary catalog of electronic dance music classics and premiered unreleased tracks by both himself and his record label, Heldeep Records.
In response to the overwhelming success and viewers who tuned into the event, Oliver Heldens stated,
“Thank you to everyone who tuned in to the stream and donated. It is fundamental we continue raising awareness and funds for the Black Lives Matter movement. I’ve made a personal donation, and while I acknowledge this is only a starting point, I’m committed to continue educating myself on the injustices of racism that exists not only in America but across the world in order to do better.”– Oliver Heldens
The online festival Digital Mirage was postponed in respect to the Black Lives Matter protests last week and will not proceed as planned this weekend. In a statement, Digital Mirage said,
“This was done to not divert any attention away from The Black Lives Matter movement and the current state of the country. Standing in solidarity with the Black community, we will spend this time educating on the deep injustice in this country and use our platform as a voice for change.”– Digital Mirage
For those who may have missed the show, donations can still be made and the performance is available to watch on YouTube:
