“The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival currently scheduled for April 2021 are hereby canceled. This order is intended to reduce the likelihood of exposure to COVID-19. If COVID-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk.”
Dr. Cameron Kaiser, Riverside County Health Officer
Coachella was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 with headliners Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against the Machine on April 10-12 and April 17-19, It was then pushed to the weekends of Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 16-18, 2020. The last time the festival took a hiatus was after its 1999 debut and its 2001 return. There is no word yet from festival organizers or health officials when the festival will take place in the future.
