On June 25, ID&T’s Sensation announced “Monument of Light,” a livestream event, which is scheduled to take place at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Saturday, July 4 at 11 pm CEST (5 pm EST).
Marking almost twenty years since the first edition took place, ‘Monument of Light’ will be a dedication of hope and celebration of life. Featuring a two-hour set by the legendary Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, the virtual live stream will be in replace of their renewed concept Beyond Sensation which was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Beyond Sensation is rescheduled for July 3, 2021.
“With this show, we pay tribute to everyone who has kept their spirits up during the lockdown and, above all, to encourage them to celebrate life in full glory again soon. After darkness, comes light. With this fact in mind, ‘Monument of Light’ was born. The show is a creative translation of Sensation, where artistic experience and entertainment have been at the forefront for decades,”
Eric Keijer, Organizer
The ‘Monument of Light’ will allow fans from around the world to experience the captivating event within the comfort of their own home by visiting Sensation’s official webpage: Sensation.com.
Established in 2000 by ID&T founder Duncan Stutterheim, Sensation White was the first edition of the festival where it was mandatory for all attendees and performers to don in all white clothing. Shortly thereafter, Sensation Amsterdam sold out each year with over 40,000 attendees. The festival was known for its over-the-top production elements, rotating stages, with world renowned performers including: Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Fedde Le Grand, and Tiesto.
