Amsterdam Dance Event 2020 (ADE)  garnered millions of viewers this year with its virtual event, which took place from  Wednesday, Oct. 21-Sunday, Oct. 25.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Amsterdam Dance Event 2020 featured a multitude of live streams, concerts, and shows from the ADE Specials program held live in Amsterdam.

Their annual ADE Pro conference, which usually takes place alongside the festival, also took place online and attracted thousands of electronic music industry professionals worldwide.

Some of this year’s highlights included “The Evolution of Sound of Our Sounds” which was a live-stream event that attracted over 25,000 viewers around the world.  Moderated by BBC Radio 1 DJ Danny Howard, the stream featured Timbaland, David Guetta, and Martin Garrix where they discussed the artists and recordings that formed their musical universe as they were growing up, the events that helped form their world view, and  their current and future projects,

There were also a number of studio tours and master classes by a vast number of artists including Bloody Mary, Carista, Carl Cox, Kypski, Niklas Paschburg, Pan-Pot, and Reinier Zonneveld.

On the social media platform, Tik Tok special moments of artists from previous editions were shared using the hashtag  #ADEmoments with Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, and Armin van Buuren all participating in reliving their memories of the event.

“We obviously had something different in mind when we started in December, but given the circumstances, we’re happy to hear people say we’ve raised the bar for the future of digital events.

“It’s great that we were able to fulfill our role as a world-leading platform for electronic music even in these strange times and we look forward to further developing the digital platform over the coming months to benefit our subscribers.”

Jan-Willem van de Ven and Meindert Kennis, ADE Co-Directors
